We have found out some information regarding Jan's death.  Apparently she died 10/29/02 from a tree falling on her vehicle while driving into town. She is served by her husband and daughter,Cortney.  She was 3 when Janice died. That would make her 9 now.

Janice was my neighbor. We had a lot of fun together. She tried to make a cowgirl out of me. We moved up on the hill and became neighbors the summer between 5th and 6th grade. Janice had horses and I had never been on one before. I'm not sure how I got up on such a large animal but when it was time to get off I was scared to death. So Janice lovely turned around and gave me a good
shove and I landed in my gravel driveway leaving me cut and bleeding. To this day I have a scar on my elbow. We laughed a lot together. She did her best to change me into a cowgirl and I will always remember her for that.
Thank you Janice! Your friend, Jody

This is so sad to me. Janice was so strong and so full of life. A tree falling is such a random act. It could happen to any of us at any time but to have such a random act happen to someone so special. I am just sad to lose such a good friend!

My dear friend J.J. I was sick to get the call about your tragic accident. Even though we had not stayed in touch later on in life like we had in the past, you were always on my mind. Our daughters are just a few months apart in age and it breaks my heart for her. We had some really great times in High School and beyond. You were a tough cowgirl and I was always impressed at what you could accomplish in the small but mighty body of yours. Just to let you know what a small world this is. I was at a wedding of our friends daughter here in Spokane and a relative of the family was from your town. I spoke with him and he knew you very well and told me how well you were respected in your community. He also told me how Cortney was the center of your life. I hope I have the opportunity to to tell her some great stories about her Mom! Thoughts of you will always bring a smile to my face. I'm sure you are riding high in the sky! We lost a good friend.
